about melinda kleyn

Local home loan advice, explained simply.

I help everyday South Africans understand how home loans really work. Before they apply, before they panic and before they make decisions that feel overwhelming.

Buying a home is one of the biggest financial steps you’ll ever take. And yet, most people are expected to navigate complex bank rules, credit requirements and confusing terminology on their own. It’s no surprise that so many buyers feel anxious, stuck or unsure where to even begin.

I focus on giving clear, practical home loan advice so buyers understand what banks look at before they apply

I am working as a home-loan consultant at ooba Bloemfontein and BestBond now more than 20 years and even when I bought my own first property, I remember how nervous and overwhelmed I felt, despite knowing the process inside out.

That experience stayed with me. It reminded me that if this can feel scary for someone in the industry, it must feel terrifying for someone who isn’t.

That’s why my approach is simple:
slow things down, explain clearly and remove the pressure.

What I actually do

  • Help you understand what you realistically qualify for
  • Explain how banks assess your income, credit and affordability
  • Break down what options you actually have (and what’s just noise)
  • Handle the bank back-and-forth so you don’t have to
  • Explain every outcome clearly. Approved, declined or not yet
  • Help you decide what to do next, with confidence

Why I love what I do

The best part of my job isn’t the paperwork or approvals. It’s the moment I get to tell someone their home loan is approved.

I’ve heard the screams.
The tears.
The disbelief.

That moment when someone realizes they’re about to own a home, never gets old. It’s the reason I keep doing this, through all the ups and downs of the industry.
